Korean Master Hand / Korean Master Hand Korean Master Hand is selected and awarded by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea to a person who has worked over 20 years in the industry and has acquired expertise.Thus, the title goes to the one with the highest skills and who is committed to this area. Korean Master Hand Association is composed of the nation’s best artisans and all members are awarded the “Master” title by the government. Master Hand refers to “master craftsman.” Korean Master Hand title is given to artisans in 167 positions from 24 areas including handicraft such as metal craft, ceramics, woodcraft, needlework, knit work as well as mechanics, fashion design, electrics, chemical engineering. To be selected as Korean Master, a candidate should serve more than 20 years in one area and contribute to the development of the technology. The association was founded with an aim to promote friendly relations and to protect interest of members as well as to enhance skills and techniques that the country needs. Also, the association is actively engaged in projects to promote artisans’ pride as well as to contribute to the economic development of Korea. The association’s main businesses, conducted by regular members, are as follows.
